Junior Quantity Surveyor

Reports to: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

In this role, you’ll be assisting the Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Area Manager in estimating quantities of construction materials and labor needed for project biddings, and assisting the team in cost control throughout the construction process. To ensure success as a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you should be able to assist project teams in projecting overall costs of materials, labor and planning to optimize project expenditure.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project teams to estimate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for construction projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and implementing cost control procedures to ensure that projects stay within budget, making recommendations for cost-saving measures when possible.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all project-related financial transactions, change orders, and cost-related documents.
  • Provide information on project cost performance to Project Officers in Charge (PICs) for updates to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies related to cost estimation and quantity surveying.
  • Conduct research on inflation, exchange rate, and surcharges when necessary.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, construction methodologies, and cost estimation software/tools
Skills & Experience
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, quantity surveying, construction management, or a related field, with good academic standing.
  • Possession of or progress toward a relevant certification is a plus.
  • Ideally, 2 years of experience in quantity surveying or cost estimation for small to medium-scale residential, commercial, industrial, hospitality, and/or corporate projects (e.g. offices, etc.). Fresh graduates with relevant internships or coursework may also be considered.
  • Willing to be trained in cost planning and creating reports on costing data.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills to perform accurate cost calculations and budget analysis.
  • Ability to put together a professional presentation of figures/cost estimates.
  • Meticulous attention to detail when conducting quantity takeoffs and reviewing project documentation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with Director of Engineering, Sr. Quantity Surveyor, and other team members.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities in a dynamic construction environment.
  • Maintain GTGO’s standards and integrity in all cost estimation and quantity surveying activities.

Preferred starting date: As soon as possible

Work Arrangements
  • Full-time: 8am to 6pm, Monday-Friday at Tandang Sora, Quezon City office

MEP Quantity Surveyor

Reports to: Senior Cost Estimator

Job Description

In this role, you’ll be assisting the Senior Cost Estimator in estimating quantities of construction materials and labor needed for project biddings, particularly for MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection) aspects, and assisting the team in cost control throughout the construction process. To ensure success as a MEPF Quantity Surveyor, you should be able to assist project teams in projecting overall costs of materials, labor and planning to optimize project expenditure.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project teams to estimate the costs of materials, labor, equipment, and other resources required for construction projects
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and implementing cost control procedures to ensure that projects stay within budget, making recommendations for cost-saving measures when possible.

Safety Officer

Reports to: Jr. Site Superintendent

Job Description

As a Safety Officer at GTGO Enterprises, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel on our construction site. Your primary responsibility will be to enforce safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and mitigate risks associated with construction activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce safety policies, procedures, and regulations on-site to ensure compliance with local, national, and company standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of the construction site to identify potential hazards and risks, and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop and implement safety plans and protocols for specific project tasks.
  • Provide safety training and orientation for all personnel working on-site, including subcontractors and visitors.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety-related activities, including inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and authorities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and obtain necessary permits and certifications.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings to communicate important safety information and promote a culture of safety awareness among workers.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging safety trends, and regulatory changes, and incorporate relevant information into site safety programs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries, concerns, and emergency situations on the construction site.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in the following:
    • Mandatory Eight-Hour Safety and Health Seminar for Workers
    • Prescribed OSH Training Course for Safety Officer 1 (BOSH SO1)
    • 40-hour Mandatory Basic Occupational Safety and Health for Safety Officer 2 (BOSH SO2)
    • 40-hour Mandatory Training for the Construction Industry (COSH SO2)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction safety management, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems and software applications for documenting and tracking safety-related data.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Physical fitness and mobility to conduct site inspections and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and fostering a safe work environment for all personnel on-site.
